Clients who are unemployed and seeking work, or under-employed and wanting to advance, are referred to Dress for Success Columbus by non-profit social service agencies & faith-based organizations that we have forged relationships throughout Central Ohio. Due to current COVID-19 precautions, clients are not able to pick out nor are they able to try on clothing in the boutique. We will call clients to obtain size and style information to create a prepackaged, curated set of looks (number to be determined by type of suiting).
In compliance with state and local COVID-19 advisories, all in-person programs will be suspended through January 20, 2021, at which time we will re-evaluate based on updated recommendations. Dress for Success Columbus staff will be working holiday hours December 21, 2020 through January 1, 2021 – client programming will be paused during this time. Please Note: If it has been more than a year since the initial referral to Dress for Success Columbus, a new referral is required for service.
A referral and confirmed appointment with a partner agency are required for services at Dress for Success Columbus. Clients DO NOT need to have a scheduled interview to obtain services at Dress for Success Columbus. Clients should receive and review the Client Guidelines with their referral agency for important information regarding their scheduled appointment. Clients are provided a brief orientation and Client Engagement Agreement during their first appointment. Interview Suiting provides clients with a complete ensemble appropriate for job interviews, including blouse, shoes, accessories and handbag selected with a personal stylist, as well as personal care items and cosmetics.
Employment Suiting for clients who are employed, provides clients with five (5) mix-&-match outfits. Clients and their personal stylist are welcome select from business suits as well as separates including pants, jackets, skirts and tops, as well as medical uniforms/scrubs, to fulfill their day-to-day work attire requirements. Coordinating shoes, handbag and accessories are added to their wardrobe, along with additional personal care items.
Clients are eligible for one interview suiting and one employment suiting per 365 day period. If needed due to extended job search, extenuating circumstances or change in workplace, clients are eligible to be re-suited with a new referral and required documentation.
